The converter loads FFmpeg as WebAssembly and performs media processing in the current browser tab. Selected source files are written to a temporary in-memory file system used by the local conversion engine. Finished downloads are represented by temporary browser URLs.
This architecture avoids an application-server media upload, remote processing queue, account library, or stored conversion history. It also means the user's device performs the work. Long recordings, 1080p video, and complex visual filters can take time and consume substantial memory.

How the free audio to MP4 converter handles quality
The MP4 workflow produces H.264 video with AAC audio, a practical combination for modern playback. Users choose 720p or 1080p, landscape, square, or vertical canvas proportions, and an audio bitrate. The default settings favor a reasonable balance between conversion time, file size, and compatibility.
Conversion cannot improve information missing from a source. Increasing resolution does not sharpen low-resolution cover art, and increasing audio bitrate does not restore detail removed by an earlier lossy encode.
